Test Footage

With this shot, we decided to have a medium close up, at a low angle. The resaon for this is because we wanted the character to look powerful and in control. We also had a lighting affect on the character, the colour was green because it relates back to the logo of the Pulse energy drink and it looks more like a professional sports commercial.

With this shot, it was a close up of the characters face. This was used in our test footage because the shot shows focus and a level of concentration from the character - representing what the energy drink delivers to people who buy it. We also looked and did research on other sports commercials, and they often show close ups of the characters looking straight into the camera.

With this shot, it shows the character opening the energy drink, its a close up of the product. It is also a match on action, this was used because viewers can clearly see the name of the drink and it also makes the advert flow better, as it's a different type of shot. Also, the green filter effect also matches the green colours from the Pulse drink.

This shot of the character is a medium close up of him actually opening the drink, this was used in test footage becasue just after this shot, it cuts to him drinking the drink and it all fits together well. We were trying and looking at different angles to make it look best, that's the reason it is test footage.
Doing the test footage made me learn a lot about making a television advert commercial, as I realised you need to vary the types of shots, and the length in time, as it will allow the advert to appeal to people more and look to a better standard. Also, the test footage meant we could experiment and meant we could make mistakes, leading to us having a better quality final product.
